Keep an eye out for Elaine Kim's new collection. Elaine Kim was the co-owner and creative force behind the Los Angeles boutique, Ecru, where I worked briefly many years ago. Elaine previously had a womenswear label called Product and now, after a break, she has launched her self-titled label--Elaine Kim.
The pieces in her Fall 2008 collection have clean-lines, but with a slight edge--definitely modern, but still feminine. I love the sculpted knits and blazers and the simple palette of charcoal and grey.Looks like for now distribution is limited to New York and Europe, but will keep my eye out for this line in online retailers.
